Fall Out Boy: Influences

Fall Out Boy: Influences

The members of Fall Out Boy started out in hardcore, but they couldn't hide their love for pop-punk and emo. Tough guys Gorilla Biscuits and Earth Crisis taught Pete Wentz and company how to construct battering-ram riffs, while pioneering emo acts such as Jawbreaker and The Get Up Kids inspired them to write bleeding-heart vocal hooks, and platinum groups like Green Day showed that punk and polish can coexist.
