iTunes Review

Assembled by Joey Ramone’s (real) brother Mickey Leigh, these songs were unearthed and put to music by a coterie of faithful friends, including Stevie Van Zandt, Joan Jett, and Plasmatics guitarist Richie Stotts. While some tracks clearly have a ring of familiarity—the guitar tone on “I Couldn’t Sleep,” Joey’s hiccupping refrains on “There’s Got to Be More," and the melody on “What Did I Do to Deserve You” are all pure Ramones—other tunes really do show what post-Ramones Joey could accomplish. The hollow, buzzsaw licks on the tasty “Going Nowhere Fast” evoke Stotts' old band more than Joey’s. The sweet ‘60s pop of “Party Line” (featuring Beth Vincent of Holly & The Italians) and the “anthem lite” vibe of “Seven Days of Gloom” and “Rock’n’Roll Is the Answer” are pop/punk fun on their own terms. There are a few moments of sheer weirdness: imagining Joey feelin’ Hank Williams on “Waiting for that Railroad” is a bit unsettling, as is the calypso-flavored “Make Me Tremble.” The acoustic retake on The Ramones’ “Life’s a Gas” makes a sweet ending.

Simply wonderful.

You know why you're here reading this so I don't need to tell you anything about who is on this album or why we have it. All I'm going to say is, Joey, it's so wonderful to hear from you. We all miss you very much. I hope wherever you are, you are happy and singing. Say hello to Dee Dee for us. And kick Johnny in the pants. :)

What Do The Critics Know? ….Ya Know?

OK.. I've been seeing very mixed reviews about this LP, I downloaded it and it is FRICKIN' FABULOUS !!!
A perfect finale for Joey's legacy …. If I could give it more stars I would! Love Ya Joey !!!

...ya know

This is just what I hoped it to be. Joey Ramone and friends, family, and I am sure his greatest fans all should be proud. I hope Joey is! I am. A great album. Catchy hooks, and basic Ramone style you would know so well. Nothing is wrong with this album. Nothing. Good for fans, and new comers. You have so many who have recorded on this is proof Joey is the king of punk.

Joey Ramone's signature bleat was the voice of punk rock in America. Sporting a leather jacket and torn jeans (like his bandmates) and hiding his face behind a pair of sunglasses and a thick shock of dark hair, the lanky Ramone helped define punk's early image as well, and...
