Extraordinary Girl

Extraordinary Girl

On her third full-length album, New Zealand native Jamie McDell draws inspiration from a trip to Nashville. Recorded partly in the city’s House of Blues, Extraordinary Girl doubles as a family reunion for the Chambers family, with production from Nash Chambers and guest turns from Kasey (“Tori”) and their father, Bill (“Paint on a Sign”). The scratchy, vintage charm of “A Liar Loves a Liar” has the eerie, tinny echo of old speakers, while the title track is a timeless and universal country-pop lullaby.
