Shameless Debut Single

Kristy Lee Cook offers up quite a soaring, attitude, catchy little ditty with '15 Minutes Of Shame'. From the first line to the catchy hook, she catches your attention. Her singing is dry like Shania, and the subject matter and lyrical content is not all too dissimilar to recent country/pop crossover smashes such as, 'Before He Cheats' and 'Picture To Burn'. What Kristy lacks in vocal range she makes up for in power, and a winning personality and charisma that shows through in her songs. Hopefully this will be the hit that she deserves to jumpstart a successful foray into music for the aspiring Idol alum!

Cook begins her "15 Minutes"

The first offering from Season 7’s Kristy Lee Cook comes in the form of the uptempo ex-boyfriend bashing “15 Minutes of Shame,” her debut single off her upcoming album ‘Why Wait’ (Sept. 16). “Shame” is a spirited yet unoriginal country track produced by Brett James that allows Cook to show off a bit of her flare while opting not to challenge her range. There are some highlights in the song, such as the pre chorus, and the repetition in the bridge gives “Shame” character. But the lackluster lyrics and the bland chorus do not showcase Cook’s potential. Regardless of the few rough spots on “15 Minutes of Shame,” Kristy Lee Cook should have a pretty decent debut in the country music world, and her success will last much more than 15 minutes.

Great Debut Single!

Wow. I wasn't expecting this from Kristy Lee Cook at all, especially after watching idol. She wasn't my favorite, but I definitely did not hate her like many of America, complaining everytime she stayed and another got out. I hope this changes people's mind after hearing this about her place in the Top 10. Definitely worth buying - can't wait for her album!

Although country vocalist Kristy Lee Cook enjoyed some degree of success as a teenager, she didn't receive her big break until 2007, when the 23-year-old Oregon native auditioned for the seventh season of American Idol. Her patriotic performances and country gal appeal helped push Cook to a seventh-place finish, despite frequent criticisms from the show's judging panel. Born in Seattle and raised in rural southwestern Oregon, Cook initially split her time between horseback riding and singing. At...
