iTunes Editors’ Notes

Fifteen years after its inception, the Vans Warped Tour soldiers on with an outstanding roster of bands epitomizing the evolution of the skateboard culture. The 2010 Warped Tour Compilation boasts a whopping 50 songs by punk veterans and emo newcomers. Blink-182 get things going with their catchy “The Rock Show,” a Ritalin-deprived punk-popper anchored by an endearing boy-meets-girl narrative. Steel-toe-booted bards Dropkick Murphys bring their updated Oi! to the party in a live version of “Captain Kelly’s Kitchen,” sounding more like the bastard sons of the Pogues than the studio version found on 2005’s The Warrior’s Code. The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band provides a breath of fresh mountain air with “Clap Your Hands,” an old-time revival number steeped in the rich resonating tones of steel slide-guitar blues. And of course for those who prefer their lips pierced and their bangs black there’s plenty of screamo for everyone, starting with Every Time I Die’s urgent “After One Quarter of a Revolution” and finishing with “Second and Sebring” by Of Mice and Men.

Customer Reviews

an unfortunate reflection of the tour

last time i checked warped was supposed to be a punk tour. maybe 20% of this is punk. blink isnt even playing the tour, and reel big fish who has an extended set this year isnt featured on the cd. save your money and go buy a warped compilation from back in the 90s

$8 + 51 songs = Good Deal

Great music artists like Blink-182, Attack Attack, and Artist vs. Poet. Fifty-one songs for eight dollars? Do the math, people.

51 Songs for $7.99??

Como se dice--Deal of the Century?
