Album Review

An 11-song snapshot of the Dazz Band's Motown stint that includes the not-often-featured "To the Roof," whose origins date back to "Take It to the Woof" by Cleveland, OH-based funk band Morning Maniac led by ex-Dazz Band member Kenny Pettus who's the lead voice on the Earth, Wind and Fire-ish "I Might As Well Forget About Loving You." But other than that, there are no surprises, just straight-ahead digitally remastered Dazz Band blasts that blow you away in CD format ("Let It Whip"'s bassline is hypnotizing). For lovers, "Invitation to Love" and "Knock, Knock" are bonafide heart stirrers and the only two slow jams in the bunch. Not as complete as the 1994 Funkology: The Definitive Dazz Band but dazzling enough.

What happen to a song!!!!

What happen to my favorite Love song by The Dazz Band I truely loved was "When you needed Roses". That song right there was the best ballet to me they ever wrote. I wish that song was in the collection, that's why I rated so low.

Real Old School Grooves-Great For WZAK For Lovers Only Memories

OMG! This is the stuff. I'd forgot about some of these jams. Takes me right back to high school and listening to the "for lovers only" radio show on WZAK before going to sleep. I too remember Kinsman Dazz!!! If you like it old school get this album. You won't regret it!

Whip It!!!!!

I was watching Ellen DeGenerenes today. She choose The Song to dance "Whip it" and said the band was "DAZZ BAND"...OH MY it brought back Memories!!! I had to have it!!! I went right on to I TUNES and did a search and LORD I not only found that one but a bunch others by them that brought back so many others that got me dancing in my seat. YES, YOU MUST HAVE THIS ONE!!!!!!
