Hot and heavy, this is Dominican merengue with lots of New York City swagger. Fulanito's party-starting debut is charged with electric tropical rhythms, rapid-fire vocals, and beats that pump hard. They deploy everything in their arsenal to set the dance floor on fire: mad-making accordion riffage on the energetic "Guallando," bubbling keys and sweltering percussion on the güiro-heavy "Mano Fria," and Spanish-language rap bars throughout. Hip-hop and house influences percolate almost as loudly as the horns that blare on "Cha Cha Cha No. 7."
