Album Review

As I Lay Dying is one of many, many bands to throw their hat into the Swedish-influenced metal-hardcore ring in the early 2000s, joining fellow metal-label signees as God Forbid and Shadows Fall (Century Media) and Killswitch Engage (Roadrunner). Frail Words Collapse is a solid example of its genre, carrying the stereotypical hallmarks of harmonized dual-guitar riffing (often reminiscent of In Flames or Iron Maiden), heavy double-bass drumming, and roaring vocals that occasionally slip into a melodic, clean-voiced emo style. There are also a few more dissonant, "technical" passages that nod toward Converge and their ilk. The songs here are solid enough and well executed, and the production is adequate (if a little too clean and digital sounding). This album will appeal mostly to devoted fans of the genre who are looking for another slight variation on the In Flames-influenced metal-hardcore style.

They don't understand...

This has been out for a few years now and it's still a top five favorite. Every song IS DIFFERENT. Start with a better attitude some of you. Just listen to the instrumentals along with the depth and strength of his voice. There screaming because it's important for you to know what there saying, they mean it and there gonna scream at you until you get it! This album is great if you love metal, awesome lyrics, true music. It's true metal hardcore in a different sense. They've influenced a ton of Hardcore, metal, screamo... bands. They could be a legend if you wanted to say that...It's a totally great experience. Try it out and see! 94 Hours, Forever, Collision, Distance is Darkness, and the Pain of Seperation are my favorites. But then again that was half of the album.

Best Christian Metal

Amazing music, and they're Christian which makes them even cooler. Guitars, drums, vocals, everything amazing. "94 Hours" has to be the most amazing song I've ever heard. And all the other tracks are sweet as well. Great album.

I <3 jesus. and you?

there is no point in writing this review because im like the ten thousandth person. but i listened to them before they were huge and i still listen to them, and you should too. probably one of the heavier christian bands. the drummer is INSANE.
