One of my favorite albums of 2010

Really good for a debut full-length album, with some good, solid metalcore songs. The intro track slides perfectly into the epic "Transcend the Throne," and the album ends perfectly with the ballad "Mourning Sun." My personal favorites off this album are "A Better View on a Bitter World," "Lies of the Broken," "Legions," and the title track "The Human, The Canvas." The keyboard interlude "In Reverence" seemed a little out-of-place and didn't do much for me; I didn't care too much for "Refuge in Silence," either, but it wasn't *bad*. None of the tracks were - in fact, I'd go so far as to say that this album was better than some of the "big band" albums I've heard.

Overall, it's now one of my favorite albums; it was on repeat for a good month or two before I wanted to listen to other music. It was completely worth the money I paid, and I now wear my Society's Plague band t-shirt with pride whenever I can.

This album is great.

I first heard of this band through there EP and I loved it. I waited until midnight to buy this album and was not disappointed. The Human, The Canvas is a sick album & worth buying.
