Album Review

Placido Domingo's powerful tenor proves an ideal match with seasonal chestnuts like "Deck the Halls" on Gala Christmas in Vienna, which also includes noteworthy contributions from Sarah Brightman ("Silent Night"), Helmut Lotti ("Away in a Manger") and Ricardo Cocciante ("Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle").

A Great Christmas Album.

A long time ago, I was flying a lot on United Airlines. It was the Christmas Season and they were playing Christmas Carols on their on board entertainment system.

One of the songs they played was "Walking in the Air" which I heard many many times when I was on a United flight. I liked the song so much that I searched out and found this album.

What a great find too. The music sounds awesome, it is very well produced. Sarah Brightman's version of the BeeGee's "First of May" (the live version) is wicked awesome.

If you like Classical Music (or any kind of music at all for that matter) and you love Christmas, you have to check out this album. You won't be disappointed.
