Caroline Does It Again

George Moreau

I have grown to love "The Breath + The Blood" - all of it - the lyrics, emotion, arrangements, everything. I wondered how this new project would hold up to Caroline's previous masterpiece.

Well, "A Home and A Hunger" is right there alongside it! The songs are strong in the messages they convey. They tell the stories of scripture in fresh ways from different viewpoints.

"Only The Sick Need A Physician" is my initial favorite - Caroline crafts a story from bits of scripture and imparts her own emotion and perspective that make this song the strongest on the album for me.

Once again the arrangements are varied and blend several styles from song to song that keeps the music interesting and accessible. In particular, the accompanying instrumentalists are very talented and add layers of character to these songs. Carolines voice is strong and full of emotion as she relates the stories of scripture.

As I listen more and delve deeper into the lyrics and the accompanying scripture, I'm sure this album will take on a life of its own, as all of my favorite albums do.
