The Best

I love that Cyndi tells her story in this album. Who Let in the Rain and Hat Full of Stars are the best ballads on this album. Broken Glass talks about domestic violence and Lies tells a story of sexual abuse. This album is a most on Lauper's collection.

i bought this as a used cassette (!!) for a quarter and it became one of my favorites. A Part Hate may be poorly named but is one of her best songs. That's What I Think, Who Let In The Rain, Broken Glass, Feels Like Christmas, and Someone Like Me are still on my play lists. And Dear John maybe took a listen or two to get used to, but it rocks. I hope she makes another one like it.

Lauper's thin, girlish voice and gleefully ragtag appearance became one of the most distinctive images of the early '80s, which helped lead her not only to the top of the charts, but also to stardom. Throughout America, there were...
