iTunes Review
Repping for Atlanta and Lexington, Ky., Cunninlynguists first hit the scene in 2001 with their debut album, Will Rap for Food, followed by Southernunderground two years later. While both efforts were solid, on A Piece of Strange, they really hit their stride, with notably more ambitious songwriting and production, as well as an adjusted lineup; Mr. SOS was replaced by Natti, rounded out by group founders Deacon the Villain and Kno. Critically acclaimed and universally jocked by fans and critics, it flaunts a sophisticated sound reminiscent of classic OutKast/Dungeon Fam and led to high-profile shows with the likes of Kanye West and Pharrell Williams. While sporting a few great features (Cee Lo Green, Immortal Technique, Tone Def), it's still mostly about the trio's undeniable chemistry, with Kno's lush and soulful beatwork perfectly complementing Deacon and Natti's vivid vocals. Don't miss "Brain Cell," "Caved In," and "Beautiful Girl."

Southern Folks Can't Rhyme??
Cunninlynguists have proved to be one of the greatest rap groups of all time ever since they came on the scene with "will rap for food in 2001". The group showed a bit more focus and maturity on their sophmore LP "southernunderground". Now here they are with their third and best album. Kno steps down as the emcee and focuses more on production which is why this is one of the best produced albums ive ever heard. Deacon's flow is more mature and full of content than ever, getting rid of some of the wasted lines he had earlier in his career. and Natti adds another dimension that the group hasnt had yet. If you listen closely, this is a concept album with a hidden story from beginning to end.. but it also can be taken as individual songs that are all great. so this album pretty much has it all and will keep you listening to find all the hidden messages in it. plus it will be turned in to a stright to dvd movie later this year. i doubt any album of 2006 in any genre will top the genius of this album... BUY IT!!!!!
I wonder why...
I wonder why some of the most talented rap groups alive like Cunninlynguists and Strange Fruit Project are completely slept on and ignored, while groupd like D4L and Dem FRanchize Boyz are idiolized on MTV and BET.I really wish something could change and people like these guys would get radio play.Truely amazing, I cant believe I waited this long to get this.Mos def cop this
Breathe Fresh
A great album. Expectations I had for this album were fulfilled. Cunninlyguists live up to not only their name but to their style, attitude and art. Truly a breath of fresh air in this so called "hip hop" culture. They do not keep it real; they keep it right. The truth of everyday life through the eyes of observation, not faux claims of adaucious proportions is what keeps true fans coming back for the rest of their lives. Keep up the honesty and reality of true music. Thank you Cunninlyguists.
