Album Review

This CD allows the discovery of a typical Italian band of seven members (double keyboards, double guitars, Italian vocals, bass, and drums). The style is a symphonic rock with arrangements and developments that make the most out of a rich and varied instrumentation. The delicate melodic work, shared by vocals, keyboards, guitars, and flute, is supported by dynamic rhythms to create a sound that alternates from acoustic to electric. This CD is a fine piece of work. No one in the band stands out, but even with few solos, the music is intricate, melodic, and enjoyable. In other words, the entire musical piece and atmosphere is primary; standout solos are minimal. For that reason, upon first listen, you might want to pass the music off as uninteresting. This is another one of those albums that you have to listen to several times to fully appreciate the melodic interplay.

Customer Reviews

Awesome!

I would be surprised if anybody actually saw this, but if you do, BUY THE ALBUM! For only $7 it's a steal and worth every penny. A hidden gem of 70s Italian prog. Very complex yet pleasant to listen to. For all the things iTunes doesn't have and does wrong, it has a lot of hidden gems too.

Opened my mind

Locanda Delle Fate really only produced this album and it was a time when Italian progressive rock was on the wane. Nonetheless, this is an amazing album from the beginning to the end, and is quintessential symphonic prog despite the Italian. The album is very well produced, so listen to it 2-3 times and it will not disappoint. If you want a simple ease, download the first two tracks.

A demo tape was recorded and it was shown to several record companies. Instead...
