Something Different :)

This band has a nice and unique sound. I like the tracks "Over and Over" and "Two Years," but they all sound great to me anyway. The album is a must-buy.

A very good album.

I bought these guys first album, and it was a good album. It was a chunky, heavy record that was very playable, and just an all around solid record. The new album, Dusk shows some progression and growth right out of the gates. Over and Over doesn't sound like anything that was on their first album, "Heavy Hands" - so instantly you're alerted that you might be in for something a tad different, like if you were to put ketchup on a pb and j one day on a whim. With "Little Things" Ladyfinger (ne) has probably recorded the closest thing to a radio friendly unit shifter that they've done so far, and regardless of that assessment, the song is moving, catchy, and of high quality. They wrote a very, very good song on this one . . . other bands could take some notes from these guys. Other high points on the record are "Two Years", "Plans", and of course, the infectious "Let's Get Married". Plain and simple, this band rocks, rocks hard, and rocks effectively. Dusk finds Ladyfinger (ne) in full control of their tools. If you've seen them live, you can appreciate the hard work they must put in, because they have always been very polished, and in full command of their awesome rock powers. Omaha or Nomaha, these guys are legitimate rock and rolling super heroes. I love it so much. What a progression.

Great Band

I just saw these guys live two nights ago at The Sydney in Omaha. They put on a great show and now I'm making my "fan-dom" official by buying their music. I like "Over and Over" the best, but "Little Things" is a close second. Buy the album and go see 'em live-- it's worth it.

Though they had to change their name from Ladyfinger to Ladyfinger (ne) -- the "ne" stands for Nebraska, the state from which the band hails -- due to copyright issues, singer/guitarist Chris Machmuller (formerly of Omaha's Bleeders for Treats), bassist Ethan Jones (an ex-the Faint member), guitarist Jamie Massey (from Race for Titles), and drummer Pat Oakes (from Mayday and Solid Jackson) didn't stop playing their brand of Jesus Lizard, Motörhead, and Drive Like Jehu-influenced...
