Glad to have Abba-esque on itunes!

I love this ep, every song makes you wanna get up and boogy! S.O.S is the standout though, Andy Bell's vocals on this song add an extra dimension of pathos. Voulez-Vous is the rave-up , just try not getting your groove on!

Abba, by Erasure.

This EP was #1 in the UK for 5 weeks in the summer of 1992, but as with most Erasure releases, didn't do as well in the States. The lead radio track was "Take A Chance," which suffers from a dated reggae-rap breakdown which roots it firmly in the early 90's. The best track is "Lay All Your Love On Me." SOS and Voulez-Vous are pretty solid as well. The remarkable elements of Erasure's sound are here in spades--hyped up electronics from Mr. Clark, and rich layered vocals from Mr. Bell. I think they are one of the very few groups who could pull off covers of these iconic songs without sounding silly--overall very good. The videos are worth seeking out as well.

I've been waiting for this to show up on Itunes!! This reminds me solidly of my junior year in High School-1993~! Even seeing the graphics from the album cover takes me back! Thanks for bringing a great EP to digital format!

Like Yaz and Depeche Mode, Erasure were a synth-based group, but they had stronger dance inclinations, as well as a sharper, more accessible sense of pop songcraft, than either of Clarke's previous bands. Furthermore, Erasure had the flamboyantly eccentric Andy Bell -- one of the first openly gay performers in pop music -- as their focal point....
