12 Songs, 48 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

On their debut album, MUNA deliver politically charged power pop with an awesome ‘80s spin. Radiating with activist energy—they address women’s rights (“Loudspeaker”), abusive relationships (“Crying on the Bathroom Floor”), and national tragedies (“I Know a Place,” a tender ballad written about the Orlando shooting)—and luscious electronica, About U is a no-brainer for fans of Fleetwood Mac and Chairlift.

Every Song is MAGIC to My Ears

The first 4 songs, released in their EP, were magical. I can't imagine the rest of this album is going to be any different.

As each song was released, I would have them on repeat in my ears whether working, writing or driving to work. The vocals and technical arrangements of each song help transfer an emotional experience that ranges from peace to longing to empowerment to inquiry. Give them a try, and I don't think you will be disappointed you did!

Love them but..

I know it has nothing to do with Muna themselves, but it's frustrating that I bought their EP and now have to basically rebuy them instead of this album having a "complete my album" option.

Great Debut

Well written songs. Great arrangement of songs on album creates an old school work of art to listen to. Very reminiscent of Cocteau Twins, excpect you can understand the lyrics.
