Symphonic Brass

This album should have been titled "Symphonic Brass Spectacular". Whether you are a fan of brass band music or not, you need to a least give this one a listen. The sound, the playing, the arrangements- everything about it is worthy of the highest praise. Further more, I would highly suggest that you rent a movie called "Brassed Off" in order to fully understand the history of this type of band. Although the movie centers around a different band, it still does a wonderful job of showcasing the community importance of these regional bands. Having said that, this CD is a realy joy to hear. There are many times that it is difficult to believe that you are NOT listening to a full orchestra. If you have a decent cound system, buckle up and let 'er rip. If you have some neighbors that you are not particularly close to, this could be the last straw if played at proper volume levels. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

As crisp and bright as one can get

I originally bought this for my uncle who is nearly 85 years old. He has continued to play the trumpet since he was 8 years old. There isn't a day that goes by that he does not listen to this album on his Ipod. He raves about the clarity and excitement it brings to life. I highly recommend this album. You won't be able to stop listening. Great for music lovers of any age.

They are also known for a one-off single on the Beatles' Apple label, "Thimgumybob" /"Yellow Submarine", both cuts being produced by Paul McCartney. The single was released as one of the first four Apple singles,...
