Get It Here, Folks

This is one of the most beautiful Christmas albums ever. It retails for $18.99 so the price here is a bargain. Sure, you won't get the liner notes save for the digital booklet but trust me, it's well worth the pricepoint here. The entire cd clocks in at just over 35 minutes so yes, save your money. This album was released in 2005 in Japan and isn't a remastered project, the Transfer just got it distributed on our shores via Rhino records. The current lineup of the Manhattan Transfer have been together for almost thirty years and each member knows the other so well. The harmonies are warm and wonderful, the percussion is finger-snapping to keep time with the upbeat songs like track 10. I can't say anymore about this awesome disc, check it out yourself, you'll love it!!

Manhattan Transfer...Christmas...Acapella...none better!!!

I haven't heard this album in awhile. This is some of the best of why Manhattan Transfer is Manhattan Transfer. I didn't need to review to purchase, this one's a keeper. I'm downloading the album as I write this review. Superb!!!

Formed: 1969 in New York, NY

Genre: Jazz

Years Active: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

Riding a wave of nostalgia in the '70s, the Manhattan Transfer resurrected jazz trends from boogie-woogie to bop to vocalese in a slick, slightly commercial setting that balanced the group's close harmonies. Originally formed in 1969, the quartet recorded several albums of jazz standards as well as much material closer to R&B/pop. Still, they were easily the most popular jazz vocal group of their era, and the most talented of any since the heyday of Lambert, Hendricks & Ross during the early '60s....
