Customer Reviews

Did not do it for me...

Sorry, will always be a huge fan but this was just terrible. Most disappointing thing to ever temporarily occupy my ipod.

Far too restrained

For a singer who shines when she lets loose and unleashes the vocal harnesses, this collection is rather disappointing, and sounds half-hearted. Linda's voice is not meant to be set among a few quaint instruments under the guise of intimacy and emotion. Anyone can do that. But rather, it's a voice meant to be used to its fullest in a setting that brings that voice out to its widest and highest places. The settings on this collection keep it constrained behind musical closet doors. Linda, please, next recording just let it all out!

I Want More!

So how many more albums can we expect from the Verve contract? I am reasonably disappointed in this & the prior release last year. I'm all for artist integrity, but these arrangements are simply boring. Something just seems so empty about these recordings. And whats up with the whole Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome meets Yanni production of "We Don't Need Another Hero"? (Wow, some songs aren't meant to be covered) Really, I have seen Linda Eder in concert several times, at several different venues, and she has always amazed me with her talent. But lately, I'm just not in love. Kinda' sorry I got this one.

As a stage actress, Eder worked primarily with her husband, composer Frank Wildhorn, who often designed his material specifically for her (and produced her recordings as well). It was Wildhorn's...
