Customer Reviews

Please no one buy this album, as Mike has said many times on his Forum this is a crock! Magna Carta once again is screwing Mike as they did Dream Theater Magna Carta Records is using all of Mikes Prime Cuts as they are calling them and didn't even ask Mike (though they do own the music I guess). But still this is a crock!

Your looking in the wrong place!

This album has some truly excellent music on it (Acid Rain, By-Tor,etc.), but it's a slap in the face if you are a true fan of Portnoy's work. If you are looking for some of his best stuff, check out Mike in Liquid Tension Experiment, which half of Prime Cuts is comprised from (Freedom of Speech, Acid Rain, Excellent Adventure, etc.) along with the rest of their great pieces (Paradigm Shift, Kindred Spirits, Universal Mind,Biaxident, and the whole Three Minute Warning). Others include Transatlantic (My New World, All The Above), Office of Strategic Influence, appearances on many artist's solo albums (Niel Morse's "?") and of course Dream Theater. I could go on and on, but you should go out and buy his other stuff and see for yourself (and not off iTunes). Buying this album is an insult to Mike Portnoy and his excellent music.

Don't buy this

This is another f-job from the Magna Carta folks. Buy the full albums with all the tracks included. Mike never disappoints.
