first review- cool

Never a huge Jefferson Airplane fan, but knew them by the compilation album "Flight Log" (of which I wore a hole in the vinyl from so many repeated listenings). Can't say I know this album well but it's worth mentioning that the song "Sketches of China" is one of the most gorgeous songs ever written... pretty darn moving song. WELL WORTH 99 cents. Also from "Flight Log" and well worth digging for are: Milk Train, Hesitation Blues, Keep on Truckin and especially, Have You Seen The Stars Tonight. I'll let you find them, needless to say, their all tunes by Jefferson Airplane and/or alumni. P.S. WHAT HAPPENED to that album ???

One of the very best.

This is one of my all time favorite albums. Of the three Kantner/Slick collaborations in between Airplane and Starship (Blows Against the Empire and Sunfighter are the other two)—this is the best—despite iTunes panning of the album (what were they thinking about?) There's not a bad song on the record and several are classic. If you're an Airplane fan—buy this.

Baron von Tollbooth and the Chrome Num

5 good cuts on this album - Flowers in the Night, White Boy, Harp Tree Lament, Your Mind Has Left Your Body and Sketches of China. Blows Against the Empire, especially the 'B' side, is the best work 'Starship' ever did.

Singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist Paul Kantner was a founding member of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship. Kantner was the first person approached by singer Marty Balin about putting together a folk-rock group in the mid-'60s in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jefferson Airplane was among the first and the most commercially successful of the San Francisco acid rock psychedelic groups of the '60s. The group began to fragment at the end of the decade, and Kantner released a solo album, Blows...
