Customer Reviews

underappreciated and lesser known Oi! Band

come on no one reviewed this yet. Interesting.

Anyways these guys are not the best Oi band of all time and they seem to be underrated next to bands like the 4Skins, The Business, and Combat 84 all great bands in their own right.

Anyways their songs are hit or miss, "Skinhead" probably hits the most and is obvious that this is a Skinhead band. Now before you get all twisted up there are Skinheads who are not racist in fact the orignal skins came into being around 1969 from a branch off of the mod movement. Skinheads are directly descended as a subculture from "Hard Mods". Also their music of choice up until punk was born Skinhead enjoyed music of Jamaica, Ska, Rocksteady, and reggae. In fact there was an offshoot of early reggae called Skinhead Reggae. Just check out one of the many Trojan Records box sets there is one called Skinhead Reggae.

Anyways Oi is a brand of working class punk that came into being around 1980 and still lives on today much to the chagrin of many a music critic shouting "Oi is Dead!" Using the words of the infamous Condemned 84 "Oi ain't dead" thatis for sure!

Gaining a following throughout the midwest as a four-piece, it wasn't long before Chicago-based...
