Lesser Follow Up to El Nino

TGATTOM is an interesting Part 2 of John Adams diptych on religion/christianity/child birth/etc. In many ways nthe piece is deeper, more probing into Christian themes and of a more complicated musical vocabulary. However, the piece never really comes together. El Nino has been very successful and deserves to be so. It aspired to be and has become the de facto "modern" alternative to Handel's Messaiah. I predict that this piece will be among the least performed Adams pieces because it is so much less immediately approachable and challenging - perhaps it's his own Faust Part 2.
