Jade Valerie

This album is quite fantastic. I wish it would be a little more recognized.

Jade Valerie's brightest album!

Addicted is the departure album for Jade Valerie Villalon, the vocalist, lyricist, and full-time co-songwriter for Sweetbox since she released Classified under this project in 2001. With Roberto "Geo" Geoman, the permenant composer and producer of the project, the hardworking duo released 5 primary albums, including Addicted, each containing a number of chart-topping hits, each gaining several awards in various countries. Most of all, though, fans attatched themselves to the generosity, soul, innocence, heart, creativity, pure kindness, and sometimes painful honesty found in the Sweetbox music - fans around the world knew there would never be a duo like Jade and Geo.

So how does Addicted fit what fans expect? The first feature is that, after After The Lights, a darker, soulful album that featured Jade and Geo sampling their own classical compositions, the team has returned to sampling outside pieces that classical fans know and love, and have created Jade's poppiest, brightest album since the Classified days. For the first time since, a few of these songs may be just a bit too girly for the whole family to enjoy!

However, most of the hit songs on the album strike out to anyone, and phenomenons like the single Addicted, the soulful Pride, the acoustic Million Miles, or the volumptuous Vaya Con Dios, will have absolutely anyone on the dance floor, shedding a tear, or stomping their feet. The scope of Sweetbox's music sure has not changed; the only thing to expect is that this album is a bit more geared toward brightness, happiness, and simplistic songwriting than one may expect after Sweetbox's introspective efforts.

Despite this being a departure album for Jade Valerie, both she and Geo left Sweetbox behind to start further projects together: Jade Valerie, Eternity, and Saint Vox. Each project has amazing albums to check out, and though Jade has currently taken a break from the spotlight after releasing 9 primary albums in a span of 10 years, her music still reaches far and wide!
