Dick Rosmini

I was stunned to see this great album on itunes. It was scarce when it was released so it's a big treat to see it here.
Dick was doing incredible open tuning, finger-style guitar long before Kottke, Fahey and the like. His playing is inventive and soulful. He does some cool Travis-style playing on Picker's Medley and his banjo work on Shady Grove sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Hearing 'Two Shady Ladies in 3/4 Time' again after many years was like being transported back in a time machine. Cool stuff.

Guitar players, check out this innovative guitarist. This is among the earliest examples of American free-form acoustic guitar.

A Guitar Classic!

This release has been a LONG time coming--one of the most enjoyable, creative, and evocative folk instrumental albums of the 1960's. Dick Rosmini was a musical pioneer in Greenwich Village in the '50's, highly regarded as a musician and a person. Later went to California and cut "Adventures...", which is very hard to find.

If you like John Fahey or Leo Kottke, you owe it to yourself to buy this album.
