Todd's best yet!

If you've never heard Todd Carey before, this is the album to get. The song "After The Morning After" is what turned me into a Todd Carey fan when I first saw him play it live nearly two years ago. I'm excited it's finally available! That song alone was well worth the wait, and let me tell you, the other songs don't disappoint. "After The Morning After" has been my favorite Todd Carey song since that night, but "The First Day" blows it out of the water. The song is uplifting and inspirational, and it makes me want to pack my bags and follow my dreams right now. "The Kind of Man I Am" is as heartfelt and honest as it gets, that is, until you start listening to "Where Are You Tonight." The song is both heartbreaking and sincere. And finally, if you missed the first single, "Gotta Be Next To You," when it was released in March, well, lucky for you, you get to catch it now. It's the love song for this generation, where love letters and grand gestures are so often replaced by text messages and Facebook. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, I don't know. What I do know is that this is truly Todd Carey's best album yet, and he does it with only 5 songs!

An Amazing Talent

Todd just keeps getting better and better. You can tell he's really hit his stride lately. I am absolutely obsessed with "Gotta Be Next to You!" It's so pretty and it's just about all the technology that we use to substitute our emotions and relationships instead of the preferred one on one interactions. I've heard most of these songs live, so it's cool to hear how they've evolved in the studio. They really turned out great! "The Kind of Man I Am" is a new one to me, but I'm really digging it! If you haven't seen this guy live yet, do yourself a favor and get to a show. It's definitely an experience you won't forget :)

Highly anticipated, and worth the wait!!!!!

Todd's last record "Watching Waiting" is honestly one of my favorite records of the last few years. It married rock and pop sensibilities so well. The songs were there, as was the guitar playing!
"After the Morning After" feels to me a further realization of the promise presented on that record. The songs are more realized, vocals cut better, the sounds are crisper, and on "The Kind of Man I Am" and "Where are You Tonight", Todd finally gets down on Wax the signature guitar playing I've seen him effortlessly pull off live. This tight package of music feels like a great meal, yet still leaves me wanting more. I'll bet you are going to feel the same way.
