Customer Reviews

This is a remarkable companion to the first volume and simply a testament to Myer's good taste and musical sensibility. Listening to his version of "Fountains" is really to rediscover, in a known piece of music, new subtleties, colors and moods that just don't come out in the original. Myers has really created new readings that, if anything, evoke early 20th century classical composers like Vaugh Williams in their English moods and sensitivities. All I can say is "Bravo" for a spectacular follow up to a great Vol 1. I hope he is working on Vol 3 since I would buy that without hesitation. (PS: If you are wondering how this compares with the Matte/Guddal duo collection, let me suggest this is a far superior work. With piano duos you often get the feeling they have to justify why there are two musicians and so a lot of music is there for the wrong reasons; not so with Myers' elegant arrangemens, in which every note has its place and purpose.)

This is really great

Great versions of classic songs - tasteful selection. Evidence of Autumn in particular is fantastic.
