Editors’ Notes

Coheed and Cambria’s sixth studio album is a conceptual saga that opens with protagonist Cyrus Amory talking to the mechanized voice of his mother over haunting piano parts (“The Hollow”). “Key Entity Extraction I: Domino the Destitute” properly sets the stage with proggy indie-rock trimmed in all the accoutrements of emo-laced metal, as Claudio Sanchez sings call-to-arms lyrics that sound like an early incarnation of Styx’s Dennis DeYoung. And, much like Styx’s 1983 album, Kilroy Was Here, these songs layer theatrical drama over sinewy song arrangements. With U2-inspired guitars, “The Afterman” is an accessible title-track that finds Sanchez coming across like Billy Corgan’s softer inflections amidst lush string arrangements. Meanwhile, “Goodnight, Fair Lady” sounds like a Thin Lzzy cover.

Not a female singer

I can't believe some one would put that on there or even think Claudio is a female. If the other tracks are as amazing as The Hard Sell, Sentry, or Iron Fist. This could quite possibly there best album to date. ONE AMONG THE FENCE

It's Perfect

I have yet to come across a Coheed album that has disappointed me. Descension is no exception. The album flows like nothing I've heard before, and the songs are haunting and powerful. Another fantasitc album by a fantastic band.
