wow

adrian orange writes some of the most sincere and intelligent folk music you can possibly comprehend. to listen to his music and then relealize he's only 19 is astounding. thanksgiving could be the next bright eyes, if he wanted such a thing. i have had the pleasure of hearing nearly everything in thanksgiving's catalog (which is quite extensive, actually) and i have to say that THE RIVER is my favorite.

yes not no

i just stumbled upon this, but it's great. it sounds like half-speed cracker, real-country silver jews and whatever else good you think you like. "storyteller" is like a surprise from hayden's debut where you never expected his dark heart to show off, but sweeter, sweet at all, actually. there's something lackadaisical in his voice, something that you get with most newer folk music and that is O.K.

underappreciated (is that one or two words?)

Adrian Orange is probably not much older than you, yet he writes some of the most beautiful and profound lyrics you will ever hear. This record is a bit different than his others because he uses a few different instruments, not just guitar and vocals and maybe some drums. If you like the Mount Eerie or are just a decent human being you would enjoy this man's folk music.
