pop story spectacular

So glad to have this! Yes, I hear similarities to MCR, in addition to 30 Seconds to Mars and some Paramore. A fine mix. Overall the songs are vocally dominant while still providing a complete product layered with all the necessary elements. The vocals are breathy and uniquely identifiable; the drums are punchy and demonstrate skill; the keys seem to give spine to each song without detracting from the melody of the guitar, whose subdued form still expresses strength and competence. There is very little filler in this album- it is hard to throw down 13 songs and not have any filler. But I’m certain of one guarantee- every one of these songs is going to be fun to play LIVE. Sure, they’ll sound fantastic in an exhibition of countless hours of fine-tuning, but these guys are going to enjoy the presentation of their offerings. I say, “Bring it on!” Favorite song(at present): In the Grey

Great Debut Album!

Every song is unique and brings something special to the table. From the epic opener "Breaking Silence," to the emotional closer "Alive in the Fire," Skytown Riot has created a very solid effort worth a listen at the least. For those who enjoyed Soul or System, you will surely enjoy this. My only complaint is the changes to the previously released songs from that EP; though I can't be sure if I think the versions on this album are weaker or simply that my familiarity with the previous versions of the songs has skewed my opinion. My personal favorite song on the album is "Dynamo." Once again, definitely worth a listen and hopefully a purchase if you enjoy it as much as I do!
