iTunes Editors’ Notes

For its 30th anniversary in 2006, Foreigner performed at the Bang Your Head festival in Balingen, Germany. This is the audio version of the commemorative DVD. The show featured original guitarist Mick Jones with members who'd been with the group since either the '90s or the '00s. Singer Kelly Hansen is a dead ringer for original vocalist Lou Gramm, while drummer Jason Bonham gives the band a tougher crunch than on the original recordings. The mix of "Juke Box Hero" with "Whole Lotta Love" (Bonham's dad, after all, was Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham) gives Jason a chance to show off his chops, while tunes like "Double Vision," "Head Games," "Dirty White Boy," "Cold as Ice," "Feels Like the First Time," and "Hot Blooded" were early Foreigner hits that have remained classic rock staples. "Urgent" was the beginning of the group's refocus and a massive hit, while "Starrider" is a fan favorite.

Foreigner's leader from the beginning has been British guitarist Mick Jones, who first broke into the music biz as a "hired gun" of sorts, appearing on recordings by George Harrison and Peter Frampton, and as part of a later-day version of hard rockers...
