iTunes Review

After a band shakeup, Before Their Eyes makes a confident comeback with the bracing yet tuneful Redemption. New guitarists Jordan DiSorbo and Brandon Rosier fill the gap left by departing member Landon Tewers, helping push the Findlay, Ohio, quintet toward a more aggressive sound. Lead singer Nick Moore has an impressive ability to shift between clean vocal passages and harsh outbursts, underscoring the spiritual conflicts in the band’s songs. Redemption flexes its rock muscles with punishing riffage and volleys of beats on “Backstabber,” “Revenge," and “Revival” (the latter featuring Tewers in a guest appearance). As before, BTE embeds hopeful Christian-themed lyrics within volatile musical settings. “Alive” (carried by Jarrett Hottman’s heroic drumming) and “Find” (a seeker’s anthem with plenty of blazing fretwork) don’t stint on the band's faith or its ferocity. The prayerful ballad “Everything” is a particular standout, building from atmospheric verses into an expansive arena-rock chorus.

Truly Amazing

This is honestly their best work yet. The self-titled was amazing, The Dawn of My Death was great and Untouchable was really good. But this is a whole animal, they've seriously stepped up their game with this album. A few months back it seemed like BTE was done for, but they found their way and have truly found Redemption. I really have not stopped listening since I bought it. Every song delivers a great message and theres at least 1 song here that everyone can relate to. You guys have created your best work yet and found your sound. Welcome back Before Their Eyes!! amazing work dudes!!

Good, but nothing groundbreaking.

In terms of musicianship, these guys know what they're doing, and I was really excited for this album as soon as their single "Lies" was released, but I unfortunately don't think that the whole album lived up to that song's standard of quality. They've all got redeeming qualities and are good in their own way, but most sound very similar and one rarely stands out from any other. "Lies", "Dream", and "Alive" are probably the most well rounded tracks and I think most everyone can appreciate them. Check the album out, if you like the previews for those.

These guys are awesome, these guys have really gotten better. A good buy, support these guys so we can hear more good music.

A hard-hitting, faith-based post-hardcore unit from Findlay, Ohio, Before Their Eyes was founded by vocalist Nick Moore in 2006. The band issued its eponymous, Joey Sturgis-produced debut studio album in 2007 via Rise Records, followed in 2008 by The Dawn of My Death, which was the first BTE outing to feature scream vocalist and rhythm guitarist Landon Tewers. Released in 2010, Untouchable peaked at the number 22 slot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and 2012's Redemption saw the group moving...
