Album Review

If that ski mask on the cover doesn't give it away, what looks like 2 Pistols' official sophomore release is actually a mixtape gone official, which means the name of the original host DJs (in this case, Evil Empire) has been removed and a UPC has been thrown on the back cover. Other than that, this is the same dirty dirty that's been bought at the downtown gas station or downloaded from the Net, but in this case, that's very good news. Here, the man who had a big hit with "She Got It" and then fell off the radar for six years shakes off those "one-hit wonder" accusations with the money-counting highlight "My World" with special guests Jim Jones and Ray Ray. Later, he lights up the club with the very 2014 French Montana feature "Know That," then the amazing "Your Eyes" gets misty about missed romantic opportunities while raising the bar for 2 Pistols: the lyricist. 2 Poignant might be a possible new moniker after that great number, and with Juicy J, Talib Kweli, and 2 Chainz all lending a hand, 2 Pistols offers a surprisingly diverse guest list that, shockingly, hangs together. Comin' Back Hard, indeed.

2 Pistols is back

I haven't heard 2 pistols in forever back since the single "She Got It". This album really does go hard, looking foward to hearing more. Totally worth the $10. Get this album!

This go hard …… i hear u 2pistols…… get it

I’ve been waiting for 2 Pistols to drop his second album for two to three years. Of course when he does, I’ve spent all my money. Now I gotta buy 2 Pistols, Lil Wyte and Juvenile’s albums. The iTunes versions haven’t leaked anywhere yet. I guess I’ll have to wait until my bday in may. Anyway, great album. 2 Pistols always deliver.

The hard street life addressed in the raps of 2 Pistols stems from a turbulent childhood. Born Jeremy Saunders in the Tarpon Springs area of Florida, Jeremy spent most of his childhood without his parents, who were in jail, leaving aunts and older brothers to raise him. He was involved in the drug game by his teens, which seemed a more stable gig since his hopes of becoming a pro football player had been crushed due to his smaller stature. He eventually landed in prison, but an earlier impromptu...
