Album Review

The thing that sets Ghostface Killah apart from the rest of his Wu-Tang contemporaries is the amazing versatility he's shown over the years. He's not touting deodorant or making movies, and he most definitely isn't performing surrealist hijinks like Ol' Dirty. What Ghostface has quietly done over the past decade is establish himself as the most mature, suave member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Shaolin's Finest captures the finest moments from his MC solo releases, and the results are nothing short of impressive. Granted, he tackles all of the topics familiar to most rap connoisseurs, but the production of RZA and other Wu-Tang producers makes Ghostface still retain a distinctive quality that separates him from his group. The centerpiece of the album is easily the achingly beautiful yet horrifyingly real "All That I Got Is You." It's such a shocking portrait of inner-city poverty, written so amazingly clearly and vividly, that it could melt the hearts of the hardest people. An extremely thorough compilation and an impressive survey of the most underrated lyricist in the Wu-Tang roster.

This is not ghost's first album, biggie whatever your name is....this is a compilation album, and not a very good one either. True heads already bought all his albums as they came out anyways, and even if you're lookin for your first taste of the god, do yourself a favor and buy Ironman anyways. start at the beginning fool!

It's Ghost

If you're a true fan, you give it the appropriate number of stars. This compilation contains some of his most classic cuts, i.e., One, Daytona 500, Poisonous Darts, etc.

How could this possibly be his first album???

Stop listening to hiphop Biggie... this is a comp album.

As one of the original members of the seminal '90s rap crew the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah (aka Tony Starks) made an impact before he released his debut album, Ironman, late in 1996. Like all members of the Wu-Tang Clan, the rapper used the group as a launching pad for a solo career, which was assisted greatly by other members of the Clan, particularly producer RZA. Ghostface Killah had rapped on Wu-Tang's 1993 debut, Enter the Wu-Tang, but he didn't distinguish himself until 1995, when he was...
