Amazing. Genius. Bright & Beautiful!

This album is just amazing! Adam Young has won our hearts over yet again. Thank you so much, Adam, for all of your hard work. I could say thank you a million times and it still wouldn't be enough. The Owls (a.k.a. fans) will be there supporting you every step of the way because you deserve it! (:

Brilliant. Best album of 2011.

Adam Young never fails to amaze me with each new release of his. There was this dreadful thought in my head every now and then that this album was going to be a repeat of Ocean Eyes, and let me just say that I'm really glad that wasn't true. Adam really raised the bar with this record and went places I never thought he would. The songs still retain the trademark Owl City sound, but with a lot more depth and experimentation.

One of the things I love the most about this album is the application of his faith into the songs. Very rarely do you see a Christian artist break into the secular scene so smoothly, but Adam does it perfectly. He glorifies Christ in a way that is not in your face but is really uplifting to every listener. My most favorite songs off the album are Galaxies, Kamikaze, and Hospital Flowers. God bless Adam Young :) This album will be on repeat for a long time!

ATB&B

First of all, I believe that it is truly impossible for musician Adam Young to write music that isn't naturally pleasing to the ears, because he clearly has a talent for it. I've seen people in the most remote parts of the planet expressing their love for his music, and that should give anyone the right idea about what he can do to people's lives.

That said, I think it's safe to say that although these songs are clearly works of Owl City, these songs aren't the Owl City that we have grown accustomed to hearing. Adam Young has obviously grown, and therefore the tracks on ATB&B are much more mature sounding than the tracks on his previous albums, even including Ocean Eyes. He proves, however, that musical maturity isn't a bad thing; it can in fact be an enlightening and rather refreshing change. After all, the incorporation of real drums and guitar can't be a bad thing, can it? Absolutely not. And he proves this with jaw-dropping ease.

The bottom line is that this album should have something for everyone in it. Whether you (like myself) have grown up and fallen in love with the silky keyboard melodies and intricate programmed beats of Of June and Maybe I'm Dreaming, or you've recently hopped on board with the ethereal and sweeping sounds and lyrics of Ocean Eyes – you'll find something to love about this album, I promise you.

Biography

Born: Owatonna, MN

Genre: Electronic

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Owl City is the musical brainchild of Adam Young, who launched the project in 2007 while living at his parents' home in Owatonna, Minnesota. Troubled by insomnia, Young began spending his evenings in the household basement, where a computer and several instruments provided a diversion from his sleeping patterns. He eventually combined those diversions into a blend of electronica and emo-pop, using little more than his computer and various keyboards to record the material. Songs were uploaded to MySpace...
