iTunes Review

Distilling the best of The David Crowder Band’s hugely influential catalog down to 13 tracks (plus one new tune), All This for a King captures the group’s freewheeling creativity as well as its fervent faith. Crowder and his bandmates won the admiration of listeners beyond the borders of Christian music for their ability to blend folk, rock, pop, and electronica into a uniquely compelling whole. All This for a King touches on the ensemble’s key elements with pulsating techno tracks (“Here Is Our King”), uplifting ballads (“Wholly Yours,” “The Glory of It All”), simmering string-accented tracks (“Open Skies”), and tender acoustic pieces (“How He Loves”). Swirling remixes of “Shadows,” “After All (Holy)," and “No One Like You” capture the group’s boldly progressive edge, fusing dance floor rapture with spiritual exaltation. Fans will especially appreciate the newly recorded “This I Know,” a stomping hosanna of praise that harkens back to Crowder’s folk roots. For both latecomers and longtime devotees, All This for a King offers a no-filler summation of DCB’s finest moments.

"Essential" nails it!

The DC*B has been long overdue for a 'Greatest Hits' compilation. I don't know how they narrowed down to just these 10 but it's a great list! It will really take you back to some of the best songs of the DC*B and then it gives you some added goodies! 3 rad remixes almost like a nod to the Sunsets & Sushi compilation are well worth it and incredibly fun. It's great to see TDA throwing in a remix- I imagine that was great fun.
AND a brand new Crowder tune. How can you pass this up? This is the 1st time "Essential" seems like a correct assessment!

This collection is worth the price even if for just the new song "This I Know",one of the best songs he's written. The remixes in my opinion were not necessary, but over all great collection to own.

SICK Remixes!!!

I do not understand why so many people have commented on how they could do without the remixes. Those along with the new track "This I Know" are the only reason I would get any songs from this album! I have all the other songs so I was naturally looking forward to the new versions of Shadows, No One Like You and my personal favorite, After All (Holy). For anyone who loves any type of electronic music I highly recommend these!! After All has more of a techno remix feel while Shadows has hints of dubstep. I was greatly impressed with The Digital Age's remix of NOLY. It was good to hear a classic Crowder Band song sound fresh again. This I Know of course is great! I love the new folk/bluegrass feel Crowder is going toward now. Definitely buy at least these four songs!!
