EDITORS’ NOTES

Using the moniker Fyfe, London songwriter Paul Dixon has created a state-of-the-art alternative pop album with his debut. Using a modern house-music template reminiscent of Disclosure but with a dose of Ellie Goulding–style climactic choruses, Dixon shows himself to be a dexterous vocalist. He's restrained when he needs to be, as on the stately, piano-led ballad "Love You More," while "Stronger" shows he can also nimbly float atop thumping club tracks. He unleashes his falsetto's full range on the Kimbra duet "Belong."

Finding Fyfe through Kimbra was the happiest accident I have ever made on YouTube. I meant to click another video, but found this hidden jewel instead. Addicted to “Belong”
