The Lost Sessions by Mouse & The Traps

Ronnie Weiss is simply outstanding in this set and the other set, Fraternity. He is Dylanesque but is actually understandable to the listener. They are a group that caught the "stardust" but not the Starfire.

From this writer's perspective this group had all of the necessary qualities of "Superstar" but just paralleled that label due to missing the "break" or exposure to the record scouts/exutives...They had all of the energy and artistic skills of any other group at the time.

Fans are very grateful to have two albums from this outstanding group...We are sorry there were not others to follow.
Deep thanks to Mouse and the Traps...some of us will never forget you!

Lost Sessions - Found Gold!

Sorry iTunes, but I just picked up this album on Saturday (3/19/11). I paid more for it, but my copy has 3 bonus live tracks. I bought at a benefit concert for Ronnie "Mouse" Weiss that was organized by the Traps guitarist (and a legend in his own right) Bugs Henderson. We heard Bugs and his current band, Dave Milsap, Buddy Whittington, Bill Ham, Kirby Kelley, my friend Mike "Junior" Clark, and more.

The highlight of the night was the reunion of Mouse and the Traps who did about 4 songs. Mouse, who needs a lung transplant, sounded incredible under the circumstances.

This album, even though it was recorded years ago still sounds surprisingly fresh! Already on my iPod after only 2 days.

Featured on the Nuggets compilation, it is to Dylan what the Knickerbockers' "Lies" is to the Beatles: one of the few rip-offs so utterly accurate that it could easily fool listeners into mistaking it for the original article. Spearheaded by singer/songwriter Ronnie Weiss, the group actually recorded quite a few decent singles between 1965 and 1969 without approaching any...
