Collecting a series of singles first issued between 1989 and 1992, Independency charts Bark Psychosis' extraordinary period of evolution prior to the creation of their lone studio LP, Hex. Opening with the delicate "I Know," the set grows by leaps and bounds, expanding in complexity and innovation over the course of tracks like "Manman" and "Tooled Up" before culminating in the 21-minute improvisational ambient opus "Scum," perhaps the band's definitive moment. An invaluable document.
