About Evren Ozan

Only 12 years old when he was named a Davidson Fellow in Music by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development, California's Evren Ozan is a Native American flute prodigy who discovered the instrument while on vacation with his family. He was only six when he spent weeks of his allowance on the instrument at a music shop near the Grand Canyon. He had only made it to the age of seven when his 2001 album, Images of Winter, was released -- and by the end of that year he would be a featured performer at the Native American Music Awards. The award show would nominate his 2003 album, As Things Could Be, in both the Best Instrumental and Best New Age categories. The southern California resident has been featured in National Geographic's World magazine and The New Age Journal, and has toured the U.S. and Europe. ~ David Jeffries
