EDITORS’ NOTES

On their sixth album, Floridian pop-punk mainstays Mayday Parade strike a deft balance between heartbreak and humor. The upbeat “Never Sure” and singalong chant “Piece of Your Heart” offer the former, while emo anthems “It’s Hard to Be Religious When Certain People Are Never Incinerated by Bolts of Lightning” and “Looks Red, Tastes Blue” cover the latter—or at least their titles do. Meanwhile, the ballad “Stay the Same” and emotional acoustic title track underscore a wistful feeling that runs throughout the album.

Their best yet!!

I was expecting an amazing release from mayday parade but I wasn’t expecting it to be THIS GOOD. I was totally caught by surprise by how much of a solid album this is and I’m super proud of them for how much they’ve progressed!! I definitely recommend this album to anyone whether you’re a new fan or old. ❤️

Classic Mayday is back!

Since there last album black lines, I lost I little hope for them, it honestly felt like a sophomore slump to me, when I bought black lines 2 years ago I honestly played thorough the album a handful of times. Since I’ve bought Sunnyland I’ve played it over and over and love almost every single song. My only gripe is the album is missing one the best songs, and my personal favorite “Turn My Back”. They decided to make a vinyl with this and an acoustic version of “It’s had to be religious...” that can only be purchased from their store, granted it comes with the digital downloads, but that makes it $8 for 2 songs. Why not just a deluxe album on iTunes with these 2 bonus songs, I’d definitely buy that.
