Great overlooked debut

Fantastic raw punk cd from the overlooked Boston band Darkbuster. Should be on national stage. Should be remembered as one of the best 90's punk debuts similar to the way the Descendents were looked upon in the 80's. Recorded 6 years before 'Weakness'. The raw energy of songs like Nothing At All, Lilith Fair (hilarious!), Hometown Zero, Pub, and Cheap Wine more than make up for any production flaws. Funny, great music, NO pop-punk garbage and perfect for swilling one (or twenty) beers. Glad I stumbled on to this band.

Greatest live band!

Darkbuster rocks live! We used to tour together around small clubs and venues back in 1997 - 98 when I was in Petty War (on drums). The songs of this album are from that time period, although supposedly the CD was released in 2005? Not quite. One of our most memorable shows was when we played with Zippo Raid, Darkbuster, the Unseen, and many other well-known local punk and hardcore bands. I couldn't believe that the Unseen actually showed up, and was even more surprised to find Darkbuster playing proudly, "We Hate the Unseen!!" That was great! If you haven't seen a Darkbuster show yet, they are great down-to-earth and funny guys, who sound even better live!

22 songs I want to hear again!

This album is fantastic! You know that cd you put on right before you go into work..try to hype yourself up? Well this is it.

Boston's Darkbuster formed in 1996 around vocalist/guitarist Lenny Lashley, bassist Mike Gurley, and drummer Eric Edmonston. Fueled by cheap beer and good times, the hard-drinking punk outfit recorded and self-released a nine-song demo in 1997 that set things up nicely for 1999's 22 Songs That You'll Never Want to Hear Again! With the right amount of speed, humor, stupidity, and catchiness, the album became a word-of-mouth success around Darkbuster's native Brockton; it included such tongue-in-cheek...
