There's always a gem or two on every Heart Album

So this in not known as one of Heart's greatest collections. Even Ann Wilson admitted this album was a purge. But there are also a few great songs -- City's Burning, Angels, and the beautiful One Word. In my opinion, One Word is a lost classic and the only time a Nancy song is the true standout on a Heart album -- one of her best songs. Also, i think all three Wilson sister's can be heard on this one. Oh and Junior Walker on sax? I think so.

Private Audition

Everyone seems to be missing the greatness of this album. "City's Burning" is awesome because you can listen to it when your mad, need to hear a rocking song, or just want to hear a great song. "Bright Light Girl" is catchy and upbeat, "Perfect Stranger" is a really pretty song that I think is about a lost love coming back. The title song sounds like something out of a classic movie. "Angels" is a beautiful song that should be known to all and I read somewhee it was written for Sean Lennon. "This Man is Mine" is really catchy too and was a hit. "The Situation" is really cool and sounds like your stepping into another world. "Hey Darlin Darlin" and "One Word" are two beautiful ballads. "Fast Times" is pretty rocking in my opinion and "America" has history written in the words. Now come on who wouldn't love an album like this?

Private Audition Heart's Epic Records Disaster Or Is It?

The reviews for this album upon it's release in 1982 were of different opinion than their previous alumbs. For a Heart fan this album is a gem, many say it is underrated. Proclaiming that the advertising was very slim Ann & Nancy Wilson were satisfied with this album. Passionworks marked the end of the road with Epic Records, and it was Capitol Records that took a chance on the band. This album features 3 singles with music video's. This album is an expensive cd if you find one on Ebay or Amazon. However this album is truly a gem, it doesn't have a solid direction and the genre changes quite a bit between hard rock songs like City's Burning and lighter soft rock songs like Bright Light Girl. Not completely buried under the sand, you can download the whole album here, and the compilation "Love Alive" released in 2006 features some cuts from Private Audition. One in a million this album might get noticed by someone engulfed in the new Pop/R&B/Rap music commercial boat, it is a Heart fan or a lover of 80's classics that are going to pick this up and enjoy it.

Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson are the creative spark behind Heart, a hard rock group who initially found success in the mid-'70s only to reach greater heights after engineering a major comeback a decade later. The daughters of a Marine Corps captain, Ann (born June 19, 1950) and Nancy (born March 16, 1954) grew up in both Southern California and Taiwan before the Wilson family settled in Seattle, Washington. Throughout their formative years, both were interested in folk and pop music; while Ann never...
