His rugged roots-rock is like a backwoods gospel revival. Crowder’s self-styled “swamp pop” melds banjos with hip-hop and fuzz guitars with praise chants. As these gloriously muddy stomps counter every stereotype of the modern Christian songwriter, this Texas native is finally giving CCM the raw nerve it desires.

Looking Great

I had the privilege of watching Crowder talk at Creation Fest about his new album coming out. He’s stated that it’s going to have a different sound to Neon Steeple, with a deep, Appellation (apologies in advance if it’s spelled wrong) sound to it. He even said that he’s really trying to include new sounds, with TB and a few other artists. I have to say, Crowder is one of my favorite artists just for the fact that he’s willing to try something new, and is very down to Earth when talking to his fans. I’m definitely looking forward to this album!
