Editors’ Notes

If The Beach Boys had been The Beach Girls and were somehow exposed to The Jesus & Mary Chain or Wavves back in 1969, they may have turned out the lovely "Walking on a Wire," a tune both dark in tone yet bubbly and joyous. It's a fantastic intro to this Georgia trio featuring the sweet vocals of sisters Elsa and Phaedra Greene. Ryan Graveface of Black Moth Super Rainbow orchestrates creaky, cobwebbed music caught up in gales of guitar and a phalanx of grimy, ancient-sounding keyboards. The sisters juxtapose their eerily in-synch harmonies against Graveface's sinister sounds, sometimes sounding hollow and resigned and at other times blissfully dreamy. Alongside catchy gems like "Walking on a Wire" and "Sleepwalking" are ghostly, hazy songs like "The Visitor" and even the disco-ish "Heartless," which swirls with ABBA-esque innocence. Horror-movie organ riffs waft through songs that might move on a dance beat or simply meander with waifish innocence, but the good times are wrapped in a foreboding cloak of dark intent.

Working from an amassment of instrumental tracks Graveface sent them, the Greene sisters wrote lyrics and vocal parts for 15 songs, ranging stylistically from eerie...
