brillant!

Stew is a genius! he deserved to win the Tony for best book. if you love musicals like CATS, this might not be your cup of tea, but if you are ready to "feel the real" then PASSING STRANGE is for you.

Saw the Spike Lee film

Stew is genius! I have to buy the album--I need a soundtrack for my two-story middle class commute. This show is brilliant!

There are so many wonderful parts of this musical, from the pastiche of "The Black One" to the tenderness in "Come Down Now", from the church where Youth gets his first religious experience to the funeral where he expresses his regret. Make sure you watch Spike Lee's film of the show--it's wonderful and shows just how brilliant Stew and Heidi are.
