What a treat!!
I'm not sure what the previous reviewer meant by music NOT by Mr. Anderson, but the music I heard and continue to listen to is by Mr. Anderson. The only reason I give this release 4 stars is because it doesn't contain "The Typewriter" which is a really fun piece for listening. The music is not profound or "relevant" but it is designed to entertain in the best sense of that word. The music carries with it a certain nostalgia that us both comfortable and satisfying - like the best of Norman Rockwell's paintings. The piano concerto is new to me and I was worried that Mr. Anderson would show us a much more serious and academic side to his music making. It turns out that I worried for nothing. The concerto is not in yhe least academic. Excuse me, I have to click replay on my player...enjoy!!
Anderson Orchestral Music
I am rating this a 1 simply because the music you hear when you preview a selection is NOT music by Leroy Anderson. If you are not familiar with his music, you could be lead astray by this unfortunate screwup. Leroy Anderson was an American gem, and a tremendously gifted composer and orchestrator. Hopefully iTunes will get this corrected (the preview problem that is).
