Reseña de álbum

Debbie Gibson and Tiffany were often compared to one another in the late 1980s, and in 1990, there was even more reason to compare them when both singers tried to shed their teeny-bopper images and record more mature, less sugary albums. While Tiffany turned to new jack swing and urban contemporary with unconvincing and weak results on New Inside, Gibson had a bit more artistic success mining the dance-pop waters on Anything Is Possible — but only a bit. Though some of the material is fairly decent (including "Another Brick Fall" and the Madonna-ish "It Must've Been My Boy"), most of it is pedestrian, homogenized and quite forgettable. And as the thin-voiced Long Islander approached 20, the fact remained that she didn't have a great range by any means.

The iTunes reviewer did NOT listen to this album.

There is NO way the person who wrote this review listened to "Anything is Possible" in its entirety. They failed to mention that as with all her albums-Unlike the teen queens of today,-Ms. Gibson wrote, produced, performed, and arranged the majority of the album. "One Hand, One Heart", "Sure", "Deep Down" and "This So-Called Miracle" are just a few of the very strong pop offerings on this album. Also inaccurate is the calling of Gibson's voice "thin". She is a very strong and capable singer and this album shows great maturity and song writing skills for a woman of 20 years. Do your homework iTunes.

18 year old album, still a nice gem

I was about 11 years old at the time was this album was first released in 1990. There is much substance on this record, more than a 11 year old could comprehend... esp. coming from a woman of 20 who was coming into her own. Listening to these songs now, I get a lot more of what she was talking about then I did 18 years ago. 16 songs for $7.99 is not a bad deal. If you don't want the whole thing, might i suggest "Anything Is Possible", "In His Mind", "One Hand, One Heart", and "One Step Ahead".

so good

This album is very good much better than what others are saying. I played this album so much I wore out the tape (when it was on tape)

Debbie Gibson became a pop phenomenon in the late '80s, scoring a string of hit singles when she was only 17. Although she was still a teenager, Gibson showed signs of being a talented pop craftsman, capable of making catchy dance-pop in the style of Madonna, as well as lush, orchestrated ballads. Gibson's time at the top of the charts was brief, but it was quite successful, producing five Top Ten singles, including two number ones, and two multi-platinum albums. Gibson began writing songs in her...
