iTunes Review

After the glam-infused art rock of his first two solo albums, Brian Eno tore up the rulebook on Another Green World. From the album's opening track, it's clear that we're in strange, entrancing territory, where deep funk meets ethereal atmospherics. Eno's ambient revolution began here in murky cuts like "In Dark Trees" and "Sombre Reptiles," but what really makes the album a Sunday-morning staple are oddball pop gems like "St. Elmo's Fire" and "I'll Come Running"—cryptic sing-alongs that just get better with age.

Me and Earl

I found "The Big Ship" through "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" and I'm so unbelievably glad I did. I'm so in love with it.

How could this masterpiece not have a review

I believe I can measure my life as a before and after snapshot. The life I was and what experience now because of my exposure to Eno. This is one of the masterpieces of the art rock/ambient movement and the best of the 4 jaw dropping albums he made in the early 70s. Strange but yet accessible at the same time. No one was making music like this then and now and it sounds completely modern and current. Brilliant. Buy it now. You need to have this music in your life.

Life Changing

There are only a handful of records that I would say changed my life, and Another Green World is one of them. Please take the time to listen to it and absorb it, and carry it with you in your spirit wherever you go.

Ambient pioneer, glam rocker, hit producer, multimedia artist, technological innovator, worldbeat proponent, and self-described non-musician -- over the course of his long, prolific, and immensely influential career, Brian Eno was all of these things and much, much more. Determining his creative pathways with the aid of a deck of instructional, Tarot-like cards called Oblique Strategies, Eno championed theory over practice, serendipity over forethought, and texture over craft; in the process, he...
